The location, the figure – comments to six places in Stockholm
Different perspectives on the City of Stockholm
The locations have been chosen to give different perspectives on Stockholm as a city and how different lives can be shaped there. They may have artistic significance, or be socially interesting, and sometimes the two coincide. In several of the places, art is present as a design or as a possible use of the place.
The places that the students started from are Einar Hylander's apartment on Narvavägen, which is managed by Moderna Museet, St Clara's Church on Norrmalm, the King's Waiting Room at Central Station, Snösätra alley in Rågsved, the Old Porcelain Factory in Gustavsberg and the Slakthus area near Globen.
"Pasta with Einar"
Design student Ellinor Sixtensdotter has been inspired by the artist Einar Hylander and his apartment on Narvavägen.
-He built the furniture for the apartment out of everything he could find, like hangers, tassels and things from containers. I also wanted to build a piece of furniture out of unexpected materials and things that might otherwise be seen as rubbish," says Ellinor of her "Pasta with Einar" side table with a rotating table top made of rubber mat, pasta and cardboard tubes, among other things.
