Why do I have to submit work samples to Beckmans?

Beckman's programmes are based on artistic principles and work samples are part of the application process. We want to see students who think creatively and have an interest in our subjects. Work samples give us an idea of how you approach tasks, and provide a picture of your ability to develop. We want you to be prepared for the variety of tasks a designer may face. You should show that you have the interest and ability to work enthusiastically and independently to absorb the training. When you graduate, we want you to have the skills to contribute to the development of the design field!

How do I submit my work samples to Beckmans?

All work samples must be uploaded digitally in the Beckman application portal.

What happens after I submit my application?

The selection of applicants to be admitted to the programs takes place in June.

In a first round, a group will assess your work samples. The group consists of teachers and student representatives.

In a second round of selection, we call approximately double the number for interview against how many we admit to each program. Round two takes place in product design of an interview with teachers from the program to which you have applied.

How are the work samples assessed for Beckmans?

When assessing work samples, we look at:

  • idea work
  • ability to shape your ideas
  • artistic and creative height

When will I be notified if I have been accepted?

Response notifications will be sent out via email by the end of June.

How do I supplement my grades?

If you have not received your grades by the Beckmans application deadline, you can complete your application. The grades should then be scanned and sent to ansokan@beckmans.se. See the deadline for submitting your application with grades under Important application dates.
