Nobel Week Lights - light works on Sergels Torg by Beckmans alumni
December 05, 2020
Reflect part of light tribute during Nobel
The lighting tribute takes place in Stockholm during the Nobel Week with works by lighting designers, artists and researchers in some fifteen locations around Stockholm. Common to all the works is that they have been inspired by the Nobel Prizes. In the work Reflect, Studio Tek wants to show that behind every Nobel Prize there are people and research that are not visible at the ceremony itself, people both in history and the present who have been crucial for the work to become a reality.
-With the work, we want to highlight everyone involved. To move forward in a job, communication and reflection are needed. By reflecting thoughts and ideas with colleagues, work is moved forward and developed into the result," says Studio Tek.
An alumni project from Beckmans
-The project has been developed within the framework of Beckmans College of Design's alumni project in collaboration with Nobel Week Lights. To be able to participate in a project that has the theme of spreading light in the dark and that can be experienced safely outdoors feels very fun, says Annika Berner, Head of External Relations. We have also gained a lot of new knowledge through collaboration with lighting designer Tobias Rylander.
See the installation outside Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, next to the long staircase down to Sergels torg (upper level) 5-13 December.
