Open lecture: how can design help create a sustainable world?
September 10, 2019
"Good design is like magic."
Jakob Trollbäck has worked in New York since the 1990s. In 2015, he created the form of Agenda 2030 and the Global Goals. This work now includes the communication system for the total of 169 milestones.
In his new agency The New Division, he now focuses on companies' sustainability work and how sustainability becomes a selling message. Jakob, who started his design career by designing club moves, believes that good design is similar to magic.
Through communication and design, Jakob's goal is to simplify complicated ideas into clear communication and to make information interesting. Trollbäck + Company in New York has for 20 years worked with the motto "Discard everything that means nothing" – to always look for a core of the message and then create engaging expressions. The New Division in Stockholm works with the same basic principles and 100 percent focused on communication for a fairer and more sustainable world.
