Beckmans staff, visual communication

Peter Ström, senior lecturer in visual communication with a focus on digital media, is this year's Berling Laureate.

The award ceremony will take place on May 15 at KB and during the evening Peter Ström will also give a talk where he will talk about his internship.

Jury's motivation

"The digital environment and good typography are not always a simple equation. With a background in web programming, Peter Ström began to explore digital typography already in the 1990s. The journey of discovery has been through, among others, gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and his own business Art and Technology. He has published both printed and digital books, is an invaluable partner in typography issues and an enthusiastic knowledge broker. Peter Ström is awarded the Berling Prize 2018 for his inspiring typographical breadth and unique knowledge."

About the Berlin Prize

Since 1991, the prize has been awarded to prominent Swedish designers for exemplary design, technical skill and excellent letter processing.
