Beckmansktor receives berling prize

Peter Ström, senior lecturer in visual communication specializing in digital media, is this year's Berling Prize winner.

The award ceremony will take place on May 15 at KB and during the evening Peter Ström will also give a talk about his practice.

Jury's motivation

"The digital environment and good typography are not always a simple equation. With a background in web programming, Peter Ström began exploring digital typography back in the 1990s. His journey of discovery has included the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and his own business Konst och Teknik. He has published both printed and digital books, is an invaluable collaborator on typography issues and an enthusiastic communicator of knowledge. Peter Ström is awarded the Berling Prize 2018 for his inspiring typographic breadth and unique knowledge." 

About the Berlin Prize 

The Berlin Prize was established by Karl-Erik Forsberg on his 75th birthday in 1989. The prize is named after Berling antiqua, one of the fonts that Karl-Erik Forsberg created. Since 1991, the prize has been awarded to prominent Swedish designers for exemplary design, technical skill and excellent letter processing.
