Beckmansalumn Newcomer of the Year at the ELLE Gala 2020
Sustainability, quality and innovation
"Craftsmanship at a high, creative level. Undulating volumes and sculptural silhouettes. Couture art, reuse and fresh thinking in a unique expression with high contemporary relevance. What a talent! This year's newcomer is Amanda Borgfors Mészáros," reads the jury's motivation.
"I see myself at the intersection of couture and ready to wear, a hybrid where you reach out to a little more people," he said. For me, craftsmanship is so important. It has so much to do with quality. Even when I was a kid, I had a penchant for things that take some time. It's very nice, then I have time to think through the garment and give it the love it deserves. I feel like ELLE and H&M see it, the motivation contained so much that I really work with. I'm grateful, humbled," Amanda told ELLE in an interview.
