Beckmans x Design Square 2020

Beckmans product design, Swedish, product design

This year's collaboration between the Form Program at Beckmans and Designtorget will be presented during Stockholm Summer Design Week.

Products for the home of the future

During the spring, the students in year 2 of the Form programme were commissioned to create products for the home of the future in collaboration with Designtorget. In teams of two, the students have created a brand and developed a product that they produced in limited edition.

Vase/pot UMA

UMA is a 3D-printed vase in stoneware clay. The vase can be used standing or lying down and also serves as a pot. UMA is inspired by the forest and like nature, the vase has a coded structure and logic.
Designer: Johanna Fosselius and Teresa Lundmark

Washer/cutting board ISLAND

The island is a combined cutting board and knee washer made on Gotland in Gotland's corefuru. The Gotland core wood contains higher levels of extractives than other core wood, which protects the wood from fungus and mold infestation and reduces the wood's propensity to absorb liquid.
Designers: Anna Rothlin and Elsa Frisén

Germer herb pot

"Germer" is a designed herb pot made of pine. Germer is created to simplify the cultivation process and make it easier to live sustainably without having to take any detours. All you have to do is pour water into the box and the plant itself will soak up as much water as it needs.

The product is adapted for pots in two different diameters and is well suited to the herb pots you will find in the grocery store. Hole size can be varied with the ring on top. The box is fully retractable, providing convenient use.  Usage information is on the label.
Designer: Alina Piatanova Nataliya Khanenko.

Shelf Hyde

Hyde is a multifunctional wall-mounted shelf. It is an accessory to the wall and offers two relief surfaces, two key hooks and a larger hook for bag or jacket. Hyde comes in the colors white and pastel blue.
Designers: Alice Lannfelt and Emma Falkehed

Candlestick Vault

The Valv candlestick is an interior detail with a classic and timeless product design where inspiration is taken from architecture. With your own creativity, Valv can be used as a bookend, a place for ornaments or your matchbox. Valv fits well on the windowsill or on the bookshelf.
Designers: Arpie Amirians and Matilda Olsson Borg

Vase TIG 001

The TIG 001 vase takes its name from the welding technology (Tungsten Inert Gas) used to assemble its components. The welding joint is exposed and placed in the center to clarify the finesse of the welding craft. TIG 001 is hand welded and in 100% recyclable aluminium.
Designers: Gustav Winsth and Max Stjerna
