In Transit - Beckmans Design Collaboration 2019
February 05, 2019
Projects with seven Swedish furniture companies
In the 2019 collaboration, 15 graduating students from the Form program meet seven of Sweden's top furniture manufacturers: David Design, Gärsnäs, Johanson Design, SA Möbler, String, Swedese and Woodstockholm.
The companies have challenged students with a mission statement and shared their time and expertise. The students have analyzed the companies, twisted and turned questions, explored materials and construction. The results will be shown in Greenhouse C16:22 during the fair. Multi-level cooperation
In Transit is not only a collaborative project between students and companies, but equally a collaboration between students as well as between the programs at Beckmans. The form students have worked in teams of 2-3 people with each company and a group of students in Visual Communication have interpreted the project and created a visual identity where printed matter, web design, moving media and spatial graphics communicate Beckman's participation at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2019.
Unique to Beckman College of Design are our collaborations with professional clients and between programs. The collaboration with some of Sweden's leading furniture manufacturers during the last academic year of the Design Program is a very important part of the education where students take on an external assignment at a high creative and professional level, which makes them well equipped for professional life, says Margot Barolo, program manager Product design.
