Swedish Fashion Now - Beckmans with friends at Paris Fashion Week

Beckmans alumni, international projects and paris fashion week

Nine strong fashion graduates from Beckman College of Design are taking the step to the international fashion scene with a showroom at Paris Fashion Week. We have also invited two innovative fashion brands created by Beckmans alumni to our showroom.

Several generations of alumni show together

"Being a part of Paris Fashion Week is a given because Beckman College of Design is always thinking in international perspectives, and our fashion students do incredibly well in the tough competition of the fashion world," says Rector Karina Ericsson Wärn.

"This is the fourth time Beckmans has attended autumn fashion week in Paris. This year we are doing this with the new concept Beckmans College of Design Stockholm and Friends as we have also invited three active designers related to Beckmans. It is a basic concept that we have also worked on at design week in Milan when both students and alumni exhibited together. It creates a larger platform and provides great exchange of experiences.

High-profile collections and designers

The graduation collections now coming to Paris Fashion Week were shown for the first time in a high-profile display at the Tessin Palace in Stockholm in May. Since then, collections have appeared in fashion reports and artists and the creators of the collections have been awarded several scholarships from, among others, the Swedish Fashion Council, H&M and Lindex. Fo Phan also recently attracted the attention of Vogue Italia when, as the only one from Sweden, he was named one of Vogue Talents 2019.

The fashion brands Rave Review and Per Gotesson are both created by Beckmansalumni, and at Paris Fashion Week they show their collections SS2020. Rave Review combines remake and upcycling with high fashion and behind the brand are Josephine Bergquist and Livia Schück who earlier this year were named"Newcomers of the Year" at the Elle Gala. The fashion brand Per Gotesson was created by Per Götesson, who after his master's degree from the Royal College of Art Menswear in London has achieved great international success and had shows at MAN, London and in the London Showroom in Paris. Both brands are aimed at an international audience.

Showroom at Institut suédois

Between 27-29 September, we will show the collections in a showroom at institut suédois, 11 rue Elzevir, Paris 3ème. There is the opportunity to meet all the designers, take a closer look at their collections and see their portfolios.
