Exhibition at NK June 2-5

The prize is awarded in collaboration with ASFB - Association of Swedish Fashion Brands, Stockholm Fashion Week, Beckmans and NK. In honor of the winner, the collection will be shown in an exclusive exhibition at NK Stage in Stockholm in conjunction with Stockholm Fashion Week June 2-5. The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to experience Georgiadis' creations up close, in addition to visibility in NK's digital channels.

-"As the head of the fashion program at Beckmans, it is fantastic to see how our students are given the opportunity to step into the spotlight through the NK Young Talent Award by Beckmans. To be able to showcase their work in such a reputable context as NK and also during Stockholm Fashion Week is both an honor and an important stepping stone in the transition from studies to professional life, says Pär Engsheden, fashion designer and head of fashion at Beckmans.

Collection where the body is part of the work

Rasmus Georgiadis' Beckmans 2024 graduation collection, A Flourishing Confluence , is characterized by a combination of artistic sensitivity and technical precision. He draws inspiration from art historical eras such as Rococo and Art Nouveau, whose richness of detail and organic forms are clearly reflected in his design language. For him, the body is not just a starting point, it is part of the work. By working closely with the lines of the anatomy and allowing the garments to merge with the wearer, an emotional bond is created between body and textile. It is in that bond, Rasmus believes, that a more sustainable and meaningful fashion can take product design.

I want to create garments that make the wearer feel like their best self - confident, beautiful and in touch with their own body. It is important to me that every detail, every product design and texture, conveys a feeling and carries a meaning. Botanical textures and glamorous elements work together to seduce both wearer and viewer

Advanced technologies

A Flourishing Confluence is an exploration of this very relationship. Using advanced techniques such as laser cutting, 3D printing, embroidery and hand pleating, silhouettes are created that are both technically advanced and poetically charged. The sculptural forms straddle the line between fashion and art, with the organic structures and textures of nature as a constant reference point. During his internship with Iris van Herpen in Amsterdam, Rasmus had the opportunity to deepen his exploration of fashion as an art form. This experience has deeply influenced his work and strengthened his ambition to create design that is not only wearable, but also evokes emotion and challenges visual expression.
