Fashion communication that explores the contemporary
Collaboration between fashion and visual communication
The Fashion Collaboration project is a collaboration with six of Sweden's most interesting accessory companies - ATP Atelier, Anna-Karin Karlsson, Baron, Handskmakaren, Horisaki and Märta Mattsson. Fashion students at the school have interpreted the brands in their own collections , while visual communication students have been commissioned to create independent designs in images or moving images based on the fashion students' collection concepts but also on the brands' own design world.
-Collaboration between Fashion and Visual Communication has been present throughout Beckman's history and enriches both programmes. The students in Visual Communication not only get a subject to work with but also develop a method; a way to practice their receptivity to the present, says Stefania Malmsten, course director and lecturer in Visual Communication.
In addition to stand-alone designs, the students have created a setting for the show at Fashion Week on 21 January. The key words in the work with the lookbook, invitation, backdrop and more, have been transformation, collaboration and playfulness. The collaboration itself has been central to the expression.
