Exhibition with several strong fashion elements
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Ung Svensk Product design (USF) exhibition showcases unique works in a range of disciplines: from product design and architecture to crafts and fashion. According to DN's reviewer, the exhibition demonstrates the renaissance of craftsmanship and contains several strong fashion elements.
"A lot of the good stuff: daring, playful, disproportionate, wearable. A contribution that disarms us with its humour and at the same time makes us contemplate serious topics such as cultural identity and survival strategy," the USF jury wrote about the choice of Anastasia Jansäter's graduate collection from Beckmans for the exhibition.
And in Marie Isacsson's graduation collection fun_Yard, the jury is struck by the craftsmanship and contemporary references. "Gaming motifs meet patchwork in an intricate interplay. Striking combination of craftsmanship and contemporary historical references, where also a splendid sum was extracted from the fine parts", they write.
The exhibition features one outfit each from their respective collections. They selected 25 entries each from this year's 500 submissions: Samir Alj Fält, Parasto Backman, Margarita Bergfeldt Matiz, Marcus Engman, Salka Hallström Bornold, Tom Hedqvist, Åsa Jungnelius, Henrik Johansson, Kenneth Kvarnström, Petra Lilja, Kieran Long, Tor Lindstrand, David Polfeldt, Bea Szenfeld, Bolle Tham and Mats Widbom.
