The design program at Beckmans has product design as its main subject and includes related design-related subjects. In Product design , the product is always related to people and the body, as well as to an environment and a spatiality. Students create objects and spaces that are to be experienced, used and communicated and work in different contexts.
What this year's graduating students have in common is that they do more than just solve the obvious function. The various sustainability aspects run like a red thread through all projects. Ecological in the choice of materials, technology and recyclability. Socially in the use and exploration of needs that we do not currently meet. Economically in product design realizability and an exploration of potential markets, where there are currently no alternatives offered. In this year's graduation exhibition, we will see examples of how design can ask questions, challenge and influence both our present and future.
