Free Easter holiday course in Fashion with Beckman College of Design and Tensta Konsthall – places left!
April 10, 2023
Bags, jewelry, hats, belts, hijabs and shoes. Beckman College of Design once again visits Tensta konsthall with an inspiring course for young adults. The theme is accessories, i.e. things that can sharpen up and be crucial for an entire look.
Anna-Karin Friberg and Lisa Jacobsson, former students and now active designers, introduce the participants to design processes, materials, tricks and technical solutions for sustainability and function. Everyone gets to try designing their own accessories and learn about materials such as leather, different types of textiles and fittings.
The inspiration is taken from our proximity and from the ongoing exhibition Portraits of a Movement. Two of the days (Wednesday and Thursday) we visit Beckmans to experience what a day at a design school can look like.
10 am – 2 pm.
Age: 16–25 years
Monday, Tuesday and Friday we are in Tensta Konsthall
Wednesday and Thursday we are at Beckmans, Agavägen 54, Lidingö
The course is free of charge – welcome!
About the course leaders
I graduated from the Fashion program at Beckman College of Design spring 2020. Today I work as a designer at the Swedish jewellery brand Sandberg Sweden. On the side, I run a brand under my own name, Lisa Helena Jacobsson, where the focus is on bags created from a pattern piece and occasional showpieces. Function and problem solving are two words that drive my design. – Lisa Jacobsson.
I have several educations in crafts and design. Most recently, I graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Fashion Programme at Beckman College of Design in the spring of 2020 together with Lisa and has since worked for the Royal Court Purveyor Nyström Stockholm and the Swedish accessory designer Susan Szatmáry as a leather craftsman and designer. Today I work for the Volvo Group and plan to start my own brand on the side, with a focus on accessories. – Anna-Karin Friberg.
