Beckmanslektor Martin Bergström now represented at Nationalmuseum
Acclaimed dress – by both stars and museums
The dress consists of a 15 meter long piece of voile, where a collar and sleeves have been sewn in. The dress also includes boots and a hat, the latter developed in collaboration with Tim Mårtenson. The pattern of the dress takes its inspiration from the blood circulation and metabolism of the human body.
The work was originally created in 2014 for Martin Bergström's arty farty collection and was shown in the baroque exhibition at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern. Since then, it has been worn by the American singer and actor Jennifer Hudson at her concert at the Hollywood Bowl, participated in various fashion shoots, in dance performances and been shown in exhibitions at the Textile Museum in Borås and at The Residency in Los Angeles. As it is now incorporated into Nationalmuseum's collections, it is displayed in Designmagasinet on the ground floor of the museum.
