Nedifrån och upp

Projektet Nedifrån och upp utforskar hur markmötet kan bli en central del av ett föremåls användning. Genom en formgivningsprocess som utgår nedifrån och upp formas planteringskärl i vävd metall som anpassar sig efter underlaget.

Genom ett adaptivt möte med marken skapas planteringskärl som kan stå stabilt på ojämna ytor och i varierande terräng. Det adaptiva markmötet innebär att objektets kontakt med underlaget inte är fast utan formas genom belastning och den yta det möter. Detta gör det möjligt att placera planteringskärlen fritt i trädgårdsmiljöer, där de samspelar med växtlighet och landskap. I en formbar metallväv av rostfritt stål, koppar och mässing, anpassad för utomhusmiljö, formas materialet i veck som fångar ljuset och förändras i dess skiftningar, vilket ger objekten en skulptural närvaro.

From the Ground Up explores how the meeting with the ground can become a central aspect of an object’s function. Through a design process that begins at the base, planters in woven metal are shaped to adapt to the surface they rest on.

An adaptive ground contact enables planters to stand steadily on uneven surfaces and across varied terrain. The object’s contact with the ground is not fixed, but shifts in response to weight and the surface it encounters. This allows for more flexible placement in garden environments, where the planters interact with vegetation and landscape.

Using a formable metal mesh in stainless steel, copper and brass, designed for outdoor use, the material is shaped into pleats that capture and shift with the light, giving the objects a sculptural presence.
