Idé och koncept tillsammans med Wilma Reichardt. En del av utställningen “What Happens In the Arctic Does Not Stay In the Arctic” på Svenskt Tenn 24 april – 4 maj 2025.
Planktons existens är osynlig för oss människor, men livsavgörande för allt liv i Arktis. De utgör basen i ekosystemet, minskar mängden koldioxid i atmosfären och producerar minst 50% av jordens totala syre, vilket gör dem oumbärliga för livet på vår planet.
Trots planktons centrala roll är deras betydelse svår att greppa när vi inte kan se deras faktiska påverkan. Därför vill vi ge dem en form, ett ljus och en närvaro i ett rum. Vi vill synliggöra deras osynliga existens genom att låta dem bli rummets ljusbärare eftersom ljuset, liksom plankton, är fundamentalt för ett liv på jorden. Utan ljus inget liv, utan liv ingen värld.

Idea and concept together with Wilma Reichardt. A part of the exhibition “What Happens In the Arctic Does Not Stay In the Arctic” at Svenskt Tenn April 24th – May 4th 2025.
The existence of plankton is invisible to us humans, yet vital to all life in the Arctic. They form the base of the ecosystem, reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and produce at least 50% of the Earth’s total oxygen, making them crucial for life on our planet.
Despite plankton’s central role, their importance is difficult to grasp when we cannot see their actual impact. For this reason, we want to give them a form, a light, and a presence in a room. We want to make their invisible existence visible by letting them become chandeliers within the room, because light, just like plankton is fundamental to life on Earth. Without light there is no life, without life there is no world.
