ARTIGLI – accessories

In this years accessories course, Fashion students have collaborated with Product Design students to create accessories inspired by Luisa Casati Stampa (18881-1957). During the early years of the 20th century, she was Europes richest woman and equally famous and infamous jet-set queen. She threw grand parties in Paris and Venice, wore live snakes as jewellery and could walk naked in the moonlight with her tame cheetahs on diamond leashes 

In a time where fashion is becoming increasingly performative, we allow our accessory to be sculptural extension of the body. Like a snake shedding its skin, it bears traces of the past but pulsates with new birth.
