Erik Björk is Head of Department for the Design Program at Beckmans and is responsible for courses such as the Degree Course. In addition, Erik is responsible for Beckmans prototype workshop. Since 2009 he runs the interdisciplinary design studio Karlsson & Björk in parallel with Beckmans with assignments ranging from industrial design to public decoration. Erik holds a B.sc in Furniture Design from Malmsten/Linköping University and an Mphil in Practical Knowledge from Södertörn University.-"In my teaching at Beckmans, I use both the technical and artistic knowledge from my practice as a furniture designer but also the pedagogical and theoretical from my education in Practical Knowledge. A holistic perspective that includes ecological as well as social and economic sustainability permeates all work from course planning to practical work in the workshops.
