About the Library
The Beckmans library offers books, journals and databases covering the school’s subject areas: product design, fashion and visual communication.
Beckmans’ physical library holds a wide range of books and journals covering the school’s fields of study. But the library itself is only one small part of a broader body of knowledge. Below, you will find information about the library, along with 50 links to online resources organised into ten categories. These offer access to further knowledge, including books and current research, historical collections, and databases where you can search for objects and materials. If you need help with your research, you are welcome to contact Beckmans librarian Stefan Zachrisson.
Loans
You can borrow items using the self-service computer in the library or via bibblan.se/beckmans. The librarian will email you the login details you need to borrow items using the computer. Loan periods are three weeks for books, one week for course literature and one week for journals. Books that are not available in the Beckmans library can be requested from other libraries for Beckmans students, teachers and staff. As a student, you should borrow books held by other libraries in Stockholm directly from those libraries.
Opening hours and staffing
The library is available to students, teachers and staff, and is open during the College’s opening hours. A librarian is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 09:30 to 16:30, and on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 18:00.

Library catalogue and other databases
The library’s collection can be searched through the local library catalogue at bibblan.se/beckmans. Beckmans students have institutional access to the Bloomsbury database. Login details are available from the librarian. The database has two sections: bloomsburyvisualarts.com and bloomsburyfashioncentral.com. Everyone at Beckmans can also access the industry publication Business of Fashion from the computer in the library.
Support for students with reading difficulties
If you have a disability that makes it difficult to read printed text, you are entitled to course literature in an accessible format. The library can help you register with Legimus, where you can borrow and access required course literature as audiobooks.
Study Support
The Study Workshop offers guidance on texts you write and read as part of your studies. You can get help interpreting assignment instructions, finding strategies to get started with your writing, or locating relevant literature. Please book at least three days in advance.

We welcome suggestions for books and journals to add to the library. Email bibliotek@beckmans.se or speak to the librarian in person. Please include the title or any other relevant information about the material you would like us to acquire.
Library Group
