Beckmans College of Design is seeking a lecturer for the Product Design bachelor’s programme
This is a 50% fixed-term position covering sick leave. We are looking for someone who values combining teaching with their own professional practice or research in product or industrial design. You will be an independent colleague with a keen interest in contemporary culture, who enjoys collaborating and teaching in group settings, is deeply committed to learning, and brings an engaged perspective on what product design is—and what it could become.

The role primarily involves teaching through tutorials, lectures and assessment, as well as developing courses and planning timetabled teaching designed to strengthen students’ artistic, critical and practical abilities. Courses include lectures, seminars, thematic projects and workshops. Teaching takes place both in groups and through individual tutorials, often in collaboration with visiting lecturers. The role also includes contributing to the wider work of Beckmans, which may involve taking part in the admissions process for new students and/or representing the college in a working group that helps move Beckmans forward. You will also be expected to foster collaboration with academia, industry and wider society.
The position is part of the FORM programme and is based at Beckmans.
To apply, you must meet the following entry requirements
- A relevant higher education qualification at second-cycle level or above, or other professional experience considered equivalent in relation to the responsibilities of the position.
- Documented teaching expertise in higher education or another relevant educational setting.
- Has an independent practice in one or more of the following fields: product design, industrial design, interior architecture, spatial design and furniture design.Thrives in collaborative settings and has strong organizational skills.
- Has a nationwide network.
- Has strong proficiency in Swedish and English.
Qualifying merits:
- Conducts or has conducted research in a field relevant to the position.
- An international network.
