2023 Nobel Creation Economic Sciences by Felicia Sellman & Natalie Lindén

For the twelfth consecutive year, first-year students in the Fashion programme at Beckmans College of Design have interpreted the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace, as well as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

Through their Nobel Creations, they explore what Nobel laureates, artists and designers have in common: the courage to challenge established methods and theories, think beyond convention, and bring different forms of knowledge together in new expressions. The creations also offer a fresh perspective on gala dress and on how ceremony, celebration and dignity can be expressed through the medium of fashion design.

Nobel Creations is on view at the Nobel Prize Museum from 5 December 2023 to 31 May 2024.

“ The photographs aim to preserve the playfulness of the creations while elevating them into iconic images. The lighting and camera angles, together with the dresses and the direction of the models, express their curious and delicate personalities. – John Scarisbrick, photographer”
