two evenings a week

Our one-year preparatory programme in Form provides a broad introduction to product and furniture design, as well as interior design.

The programme prepares you to apply for higher education in design. It is also suited to those looking to take the next step in their career, develop new skills or change direction in their current work. Through practical and theoretical exercises, you will have the opportunity to explore design in depth over the course of the year. Our aim is to help you develop and strengthen your sense of form and your own creative voice.

Teaching takes the form of lectures and workshops held two evenings a week. In addition to scheduled classes, you will need to work independently to complete assignments and projects. The course is taught by practising professionals from the field of design.

Fees and scholarships

The tuition fee is SEK 37,000 and must be paid before the course begins. The preparatory programmes are not eligible for financial support from CSN, the Swedish Board of Student Finance. Through our partnership with Svea Bank, you can spread the cost over 6 or 12 months. Longer payment plans are also available, but interest will apply. Find out more about how it works here.


Since 2019, the Design Scholarship has been available to students wishing to attend Beckmans Evening School. Established by the Robert Weil Family Foundation, the scholarship covers the tuition fee and is open to anyone who has submitted an application to Beckmans Evening School.
