NUNNA
NUNNA (meaning nun in Swedish) is an interpretation of the 500 year old and excluding Monk chair. Since childhood Madeleine have been fascinated by her family’s three-legged Monk chair. The Monk chair has an equilateral triangular seat with the apex pointing backwards. In the interpretation the apex of the seat is turned round to point forwards which gives the chair two extra legs (our own). Turning the seat round also lets those with a little wider hips – nuns and other women – to sit in comfort.
Several NUNNA chairs and stools can be combined horizontally to form a bench, sofa or chaise longue. A variety of unique minimalistic settings can be created in a playful and flexible manner for modern public spaces.
