Exhibition: Art/Advertising/Art

Beckmans Swedish, artistic design and visual communication

This weekend, students in Visual Communication invite you to an exhibition at Konstnärshuset that investigates the charged relationship between art and advertising.

Contradictions and similarities

Art and advertising have throughout history shared visual contexts and fought over interpretation. They both exploit and develop the possibilities for media and personal communication. The contradictions and similarities give rise to a discussion about creativity, commercialism, freedom of speech, realism, vanity, dreams.

Now, second-year students in Visual Communication have been exploring the subject for three weeks. The course has been given in the subject Artistic Design and invited guest supervisor in the course has been the artist and professor Année Olofsson.

Exhibition 9-11 November

Vernissagen Friday 9/11 at 16.15 in the Lounge at Konstnärshuset, Smålandsgatan 7. The exhibition is then open Saturday from 13.00-16.00 and Sunday 12.00-16.00.
