Kurs i CLO-3D för designers på Beckmans

Sofia Hulting

This fall, Beckmans will start a stand-alone 10-week course in the 3D program CLO. The course is aimed at working fashion designers who want to secure and develop their skills in the labor market.

Sustainability and digitalization in focus for the fashion industry

The fashion industry is changing and this places increased demands on skills in sustainability and digitalization. Developing skills is therefore more important than ever. With 3D tools such as CLO, fewer samples need to be sewn up and sent across the world and decisions can be made faster as the products in CLO become more realistic.

Knowledge of 3D programs required in design recruitments

At Weekday, 3D programs save the environment, time and money, which is why the company requires some product design of 3D skills in all design recruitment.

-The 3D tools have allowed us to save test rounds. In some cases, we have been able to go from three rounds to one because of good CLO sketches. The fact that there are fewer test rounds makes us more agile and the products are more relevant to customers, which is also more sustainable," says Anna Norling, Head of Design at Weekday and member of the Beckman Board.

Empowering design teams with CLO-3D

-Another benefit is that the designer - pattern maker team has become stronger and the programs have changed the design process to some extent. Now the focus is on the silhouette because that is where you start in the program. Only then are materials and details added," she continues.

Registration opens in August

Does it sound interesting? The teacher is Charlotte Högberg, textile designer specializing in digital tools and with several years of experience teaching CLO-3D at the Stockholm Tailor Academy. We will open registration for the course in August at beckmans.se.
