A project aimed at finding out how the algae product agar could be used in product design.

Agar is a gel-like substance extracted from the edible red algae. 

Through a variety of material tests, I have wanted to clarify its properties and in that way come up with new uses for agar. The experiments have been influenced by the art of cooking, with a variety of tests regarding the adjustment of ingredients, mixtures, quantity and drying method. 

The purpose of the project is to present new expressions made possible by the properties of the natural material agar. Respect for the earth's finite resources has been central. I wanted to create something that can be used for as long as possible and that after use can be returned to nature with minimal impact on the cycle. 

Based on these premises, I have designed products for interior design.
