Open lecture | Fragrance as a design tool
Fragrance and creative processes
Fragrance is invisible and formless but at the same time it is closely associated with social identities and visual culture. The subject is relatively unexplored within the framework of established design methodology, but has many application areas.
This lecture explores how to think about scent in relation to product design, fashion and visual communication, how scent can serve as a starting point for design, but also how scent can inform creative processes and make them more thoughtful.
Lecture part of exhibition in gallery Shoof
The lecture is part of the new exhibition "Perfumes for the Poor" in the Shoof booth gallery run by Samira Bouabana, graphic designer and program manager Visual Communication. In the exhibition, artist Fabienne Audéoud discusses the cultural and social significance of how perfume has been packaged throughout history, the ideas behind marketing strategies for different target groups and the connection between consumption and class.
