"This year's Craft Award goes to one of Sweden's most renowned designers, active in everything from interior design and accessories to clothing and art. Inspiration is often drawn from nature, which has made the organic and almost mystical idiom his hallmark. The close relationship with the plant kingdom is also evident in his strong commitment to sustainable design. What he creates is meant to live long and be passed down from generation to generation. His design has attracted worldwide attention. In addition to several assignments for NK, he has worked with everything from Scandinavian companies to Indian producers and French fashion houses, and has a showroom in Los Angeles"
About the NK Gala
2019 is the fourth year of the NK Gala. Prizes are awarded in the categories: Nordiska Kompaniet's Promise of the Future, Nordiska Kompaniets Stilikon, Nordiska Kompaniets Innovationspris and Nordiska Kompaniets Hantverkspris, a prize that is new for this year. Nordiska Kompaniet's Honorary Stove is appointed by Nordiska Kompaniet and the winner of the Nordic Company's Brand Prize is voted for by NK's customers.
