Cushy – a sculptural outdoor furniture
Nearly 500 entries were submitted to the competition. In competition with many well-established designers, Gripner & Hägglund took home the prize in the hard-won category Furniture.
The jury's motivation: "With its deliciously sculptural purple outdoor furniture in a park in Jakobsberg, Gripner &. Hägglund has created the conditions for both unexpected meetings and greater social sustainability. Their sofas and armchairs in the Cushy series invite you to socializing and unexpected meetings, while challenging the common distinctions between outside and inside, between art and furniture, between soft and hard."

Jury Honorary Award to Bea Szenfeld
Bea Szenfeld received the jury's honorary award for her collected works. The award rewards a creation beyond the ordinary and that has contributed to the development of the design area in general.
The jury's motivation: "The jury's honorary award 2018 goes to Bea Szenfeld, whose work as a whole constantly challenges product design, materials and contemporary. Bea Szenfeld is pushing the boundaries between fashion, crafts and design, all of which are areas in which she excels. Design knowledge, knowledge of materials and a skilfully executed practical craft are found in all of Bea Szenfeld's works and make her artistry exceptional and innovative."
