Beckmans presenterar designsamarbete med Sveriges främsta möbelproducenter under Stockholm Design Week
09 februari 2021
At a time when our homes need to work for all areas of life, when the same areas are shared between work and leisure, we have created the exhibition Room Service – six products developed in a collaboration between the final-year students at the Form program and Dux, Gärsnäs, Johanson Design, Kinnarps, Källemo and Storängen Design.
"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with prominent Swedish design companies in this project for the fourth year in a row. Every year brings new opportunities and challenges, not least this year with the ongoing pandemic, but together are the design companies' generous contribution with their time and expertise and the valuable experiences that the collaboration gives students for the future, says Morgan Rudberg, senior lecturer at product design responsible for the course.
Exhibition in mini-Greenhouse in the heart of Stockholm 8-13 February
In the project, the students in teams of two have worked with each design company, which in turn challenged them with a brief. The students have since worked closely with the companies, throughout the design process, to realize their ideas. The result is the six furniture prototypes that we show in the exhibition Room Service in Superellipsen in Sergels torg, together with the visual concept developed for the exhibition by a final-year student at the visual communication programme.
During Stockholm Design Week, Superellipsen serves as a mini version of Greenhouse at the Stockholm Furniture Fair as the situation created the opportunity to join forces with Stockholm's two other design colleges – Konstfack and Malmstens.
